Ayman Ewies — Curriculum coordinator
Curriculum Overview
The LEAD Programme will be primarily delivered face-to-face and the content will be taught through four main formats
Retreats
These retreats were designed to further develop students’ sense of community as well as creating an opportunity for tafakur, thinking and tadabur, reflection, that we seldom have in our hectic lives.
Study Circles
The majority of the content will b delivered via the interactive study circles that will take place 6 hours/month and will be lead by our experienced study circle (halaqah) leaders.
Personal Development
This covers the self-development responsibilities of participants across the 2 years. Participants must select ≥2 of these activities (see logbook for activity ideas) of their choice to do, either individually or as a group.
Virtual Sessions
We will run focused, theme-based virtual sessions with recognised scholars to deliver core Islamic knowledge. The aim of this is to shorten the gaps between the retreats. Attendance will not be compulsory but highly recommended.
Testimonial
“The spirituality was entwined into everything we did and we felt accepted, unique and united in our togetherness.” – Shayma
“The LEAD program was a truly life changing experience for me, not only because of the content but the delivery as well. A mixture of lectures, workshops, small group circles , fun activities, qiyams throughout the years; there really hasn’t been anything like it. I felt a lot pf effort was made into making it open and friendly and as a result, those friendships are still going strong today.” – Aksa
“I don’t think I have ever experienced a sisterhood like this one that blossomed within the lead program. the leaders did such a good job of creating a culture of openness, kindness and acceptance.”
– Rofaidah
